The Westcliff men's soccer team closed its regular season in commanding fashion Saturday night in Redding, erupting for five second-half goals in a 6–1 win over Simpson.
It was the fifth straight victory for the Warriors, who finish the regular season 9-4-2 overall and 6-1-1 in Cal Pac play.
Senior forward Adi Vaknin recorded his second straight hat trick, scoring three times and adding an assist to cap a scorching two-week stretch.
Jeremi Kwiatkowski, Jose Urdiano Morales, and Ismail Shafi also scored, while Jordan Di Lonardo served as the creative spark with three assists on the night.
Westcliff led just 1-0 at halftime after Kwiatkowski's opener in the 44th minute, but the Warriors took complete control after the break.
Vaknin struck twice in a six-minute span, Morales added another, and Shafi closed the match in the 89th.
Goalkeeper Olly Scott went largely untested as Westcliff out-shot Simpson 24-2.
"It was a great way to end the regular season," said Westcliff head coach Randy Dodge. "We really are all on the same page and really playing well. Adi and Jordan combined for some really pretty goals. As a group everyone played and contributed at a high level. Now we have to continue this going into the conference tournament."
Westcliff is set to face Pacific Union in the Cal Pac semifinals on Nov. 9 at 12:20 p.m. in Santa Ana.
