Warriors Battled Hard Against CMS

Westcliff women's tennis is off to a slower start than they would have liked to this season. 

On Saturday they took on the #1 DIII ranked Women's Tennis team of Claremont-Mudd-Scripps at the Biszantz Family Tennis Center. 

The Warriors had a rough day as they were outmatched, finishing the day with a loss, 8-1.

Doubles team #1 of Marielena Munch/Kanon Sorakubo lost to the #37 ranked team of Alisha Chulani/Nikolina Batoshvili 8-5. 

Doubles team #2 of Shayee Sherif/Alessia Radu lost to the #5 ranked team Katherine Wurster/Sena Selby of CMS. 

The Warriors had their only singles win with Marielena Munch's victory at #2 singles over the #5 nationally ranked Katherine Wurster 6-3, 6-4.

Singles #4 Alessia Radu also had a hard-fought 3-setter in the #4 line, but lost 6-3, 0-6, 2-6.

Up next, the Warriors will be back in action again on Feb. 14, when they take on Point Loma.
