Ogik, Allen and Robinson Led the Warriors over UCI
Westcliff Warriors continue to get better and better with each game.
Past Saturday Westcliff hosted UCI for an evening competition of Lacrosse.
Evening started right out of the gate with a quick goal from the Warriors. Westcliff ended the 1st period up 3-1.
The 2nd period saw the Warriors extend their lead with a barrage of goals quickly going up 13-2 at the Half.
3rd Period was a lot of defensive plays from both sides with saves from Tyrese Findlay.
Excellent block down defense from Hunter Stocksick. 3rd period ended with only a solo goal from the Warriors.
4th Period was much of the same with a lot of goals from the Warriors and hard defense to halt any UCI momentum.
Standout Performances from this match first has to go to Zach Souza who won the edge in faceoffs against UCI.
Tyrese Findlay in Goal holding UCI to only 4 goals for the entire match.
Offensively saw a lot of Warriors contributing on goals and assists.
Jesse Robinson and George Ogik led the team with 5 Goals.
Colby Allen also had 5 Goals but also assisted on 2.
Joel Subahwon followed the 3 Warriors with 3 Goals and 2 Assists.
Juan Serna recorded 2 Goals and an Assist.
Qadri Penn dished out 2 Assists.
Antoine Campbell also contributed to the high power offensive with an Assist.
We talked to Head Coach Mike Song about the performance this is what he had to say, "These guys are amazing.
They keep getting better, improving as a team, and understanding each others strengths.
Last night was an example of that growth as they executed a new game plan.
Game management was key. We also wanted our attack to be the keys to the game, and the dodged and initiated the best all season.
Zach Souza won the gameball last night with a 2nd game in a row winning at faceoffs.
Jesse Robinson had a breakout game, and George Ogik is proving to be a versatile scorer.
Antoine Campbell was all over the field locking down on defense, getting ground balls and clearing."
