The Westcliff women's soccer team didn't just win Friday night — it announced itself.

Behind five different goal scorers, including Jysabella Tolentino and Jordyn Gather, the Warriors routed previously unbeaten Simpson 5–0 at OC Great Park, taking sole possession of first place in the Cal Pac standings and leaving little doubt about who the conference front-runner is.

The night had all the makings of a Westcliff showcase.

The national championship cheer team performed at halftime, a food truck lined the berm, faculty filled the sidelines, and fans draped in blue and gold packed in to celebrate the school's official Blue & Gold Night. It felt less like a regular-season match and more like a statement of identity — a campus united behind a contender.

"It was a really top performance from the group," head coach Jack Gidney said. "We had prepped for a certain shape, and in the warmup late we noticed them prepping in a different one and to sit off in a mid-block against us.

"We had to scramble with the girls and the board to adjust some of the movements and rotations in order to be able to pull the block apart and create space, and I thought we grew in confidence as the game went on."

The adjustments paid off quickly.

Tolentino set up Isabella Bottero for the opener just four minutes in, then returned to the scoresheet late with a goal of her own to close the scoring.

Samantha Aguila, Gather, and Isabella Covarrubias also found the net as Westcliff (11–1–1, 4–0–0 Cal Pac) continued its torrid start to conference play.

Gidney credited his back line — Jayd Lupoli, Jaz Arevalo, and Bella Hicken — with setting the tone and named Lupoli the Player of the Game.

"The back three of Jayd, Jaz and Bella really allows us to progress into the thirds but also offer the threat in behind, which in the end causes chaos," Gidney said. "I'm leaving the game so pleased and so proud of them on a statement win, winning all our games and none conceded, but still think we could have scored more. A great win.

"This is some team."

Westcliff's defense has now gone four straight conference matches without allowing a goal, outscoring league opponents 25–0 during that stretch.

The Warriors will look to continue their unbeaten run when they return to conference play next week at Stanton.

But for now, Friday night will be remembered for what it was — a celebration of a program that's no longer chasing anyone.

Westcliff's the team to beat.
