The Westcliff University women’s basketball team show glimpses of a bright future ahead in a season-opening, 84-70 loss at Hope University in Fullerton Friday afternoon.
Lauren Davis led the way for the Warriors, turning in 19 points, while Murrellene Woodson added 13 of her own.
Westcliff shot 50-percent from the field as a team.
“We battled in our first game against a quality opponent,” Westcliff head coach Kyle Rouse said. “If we do a better job of taking care of the ball, we have a great chance at winning that game.”
The Warriors finished with 28 turnovers, a number they will have to lower going forward.
“We have some great potential,” Rouse said. “We showed some great glimpses today on both sides of the basketball.
“We look forward to getting better each day and being a tough team to beat this season.”
