The Westcliff University women’s volleyball team wrapped up its season Friday at the San Marcos Community Gymnasium with a 3-0 blanking (25-19, 25-15, 25-17) of St. Katherine.
Leah Price led the way with 10 kills and Amanda Gross added seven of her own. Libero Kassidy Beagan had a nice night at the service stripe, finishing with four aces.
“The team really came together to play as a whole unit in the final match of the season,” Westcliff head coach Derrick Trent said. “From the first point to the last point, the team was on a mission to get a big win for the final match of the season, and for some, their final indoor college match.”
As a team, the Warriors finished with 32 kills, 11 aces and 34 digs.
“I was very proud of our seniors who led from the front and did not let up during a single point in the match,” Trent said. “They really showed the rest of the team what it means to be a Warrior on the court.
“We will miss our seniors dearly, but the legacy they leave behind will never be forgotten.”
The Warriors, who played just three home contests in 2019, finished with an impressive record of 15-9.
