Westcliff Adds Men’s and Women’s Soccer with Joey O’Keefe at the Helm

Irvine, Calif. Westcliff University, along with Athletic Director Shawn Harris are pleased to announce the hiring of Joey O’Keefe as Head Coach for the Men’s and Women’s programs. O’Keefe brings a plethora of playing, scouting and coaching experience. As a collegiate player, O’Keefe earned three All-Conference awards, Conference Player of the Year award and a First Team All-American award while at Biola. O’Keefe played in the PDL for three seasons before signing a contract to play professionally in Salzburg, Austria. Since returning back to the States, O’Keefe has worked with the LA Galaxy traveling internationally to scout talent to bring back to the Galaxy 2 USL squad. O’Keefe spearheaded the boy’s soccer program at Pacifica Christian High School in Newport Beach where he earned Coach of the Year award in each of his two seasons.

“I’m excited to be part of a dynamic athletic program that is full of possibilities. As a coaching staff, we have the mindset of growing a team of players that are immediately ready to compete and step on the field expecting to win.” The Warriors are excited for the inaugural soccer season in the Fall of 2019.
