Warriors Compete at Cal State LA Invitational

Los Angeles, Calif. Junior Cristina Chapi and Freshman Skyler Madrid, competed at the California State LA Invitational meet through inclement weather. The two opened their season with adverse weather conditions and prevailed with great performances.
Chapi started the two day meet off with a successful javelin performance, placing third overall with a best throw of 23.92 meters. The junior opened up the second day with a collegiate win in the discus of 28.91 meters, and progressed each throw in the shot put.
Freshman Madrid placed top 8 in the 200m, 400m, and 800m. She ran her first race, 400m dash in pouring rain, to finish at 63 seconds. For her first ever 800m dash she executed well, running 2:30. Then finished her day with a quick 200m dash.
Both ladies had an amazing day competing at the Cal State LA Invitational and look forward to competing at their Twilight meet later this season.
