Paul Cook

Mr. Cook is a lifelong educator, coach, musician, and professional athlete. He earned his
bachelor’s degree from Azusa Pacific University and his master’s degree from National
University where he graduated with honors. Mr. Cook has a California multiple subject teaching
credential, and he has spent his professional life working with diverse students from varied
backgrounds including various socioeconomic, ethnic, and culturally diverse families and
students. He has an extensive educational resume that includes serving as a mentor teacher and
supervisor of student teachers.
Mr. Cook is an accomplished musician who has recorded and performed professionally around
the world, including performing with Little Richard, the LA Jazz Workshop, Disneyland, and
Louis Bellson Big Band. Mr. Cook has also owned and managed several successful businesses.
For three years he served as Executive Director of Southern California USA Track and Field, and
he has taught and coached at California State University Long Beach, Hope International
University, The Master’s University, Bristol University, and he advises elite coaches and athletes
in the USA and around the world. Coach Cook has coached athletes that were all-conference, all-
American, and Olympic level. He is in high demand in the USA and around the world as a
consultant and expert in coaching techniques, coaching education, sports science, sports
medicine, and sports psychology. He spends time every year traveling to various under-
developed countries as an invited volunteer working to improve their athletic and educational
programs. These trips have included Central and South America, Asia, Europe, and Africa where
he works with the Kenyan elite coaches and runners.
Athletically he has been an elite professional distance runner, and he has been a podium finisher
at major races and national and international championships. He has been a team member on
many national championships teams. Coach Cook is the former world and American record
holder for the master’s 20 kilometer run.
